Season 3 Week 9

BROWNCOATS vs ABERRATIONS
Aberrations outsmart the Browncoats 43 - 27

MIA vs IMPALERS
The MIA show why they're the Fastest Team Alive - ranking up a high score of 89 - 34

EELS vs LEVIATHANS
A passing game back and forth ends when the Leviathans have too many players blackflagged for injury, allowing the Eels to win as the current points leader at 21 - 14

MILITANTS vs SENTINELS
In the second upset of the week, the winless Sentinels break their bad luck streak on the backs of the Militants 32 - 27, mostly as a result of the Militants having several starters injured early on.

PANDAS vs CROWS
Coin Toss: Pandas win, will receive
Kickoff: Buzzsaw kicks for a pickup by Indiana Jones, who manages a decent gain before being taken down by Wonder Woman.
Game Synopsis: The first quarter of the game sees the Crows gain a considerable lead, as the Panda defense can't even touch their offensive line. Jax Teller comes in during the first quarter replacing King Kong as defense for one play. This gives the Pandas basically a free touchdown but during the play Jax injures Fred Flintstone, putting him out for the game. Kong returns to defense after this. Things finally turn darker for the Crows when Neil Patrick Harris manages to seduce Wonder Woman away from the Crows. Kong is deflated and upset and not quite as potent as he previously was, though still stronger than the Panda defense. The Pandas restructure their line. During the second quarter the sexual harrassers manage a few touchdowns and cycle through several bench players. Thunderbird replaces the dejected Kong for a play and ends up injuring Ambush Bug. However the Pandas manage to utilize Kirk to counteract the efficiency of The Doctor. During the second half, Jax returns for a play and injures Cowardly Lion before he gains the courage to fight back. The Pandas turn Wonder Woman against her former teammates and manage to get the truth of their playbook out of them, allowing them to return score. In the end it comes down to raw stats as the slightly superior Kong defense and the fourth quarter injection of Neville without the Pandas own Lion to counteract gives them the upperhand.

After the game the Crows are seen cussing out their newest recruit The War Doctor for allowing Kirk to get into his head.

Final: SHP 39 - CC 41

GRENADES vs AUTOMATONSThe Atlus boys continue a streak of refined gameplay when they pummel the Automatons 38 - 21

Season 3, Week 8

Commissioner's Note: Due to lack of strategies being sent in, and thus lack of plentiful writeups - coupled with finals week, this week will be one quick post with highlights.

GAME ONE:
Aberrations beat Impalers 48 - 21
Highlights: A new player
“As the Aberrations take the field, a new creature comes with them.  It seems to be a giant insect of some sort, complete with huge mandibles and long forearms, with 4 very strong, shorter, human arms attached to the torso.  As the Abberations lineup is announced, they call it “Umber Goro”, and seem to have it playing…kicker…”

Ousa is resurrected from death last week by Jozan. The Aberrations re-kill Falkor.
GAME TWO:
The Eels test their streak with a slight win in triple overtime over the MIA - 121 to 118

GAME THREE:
Grenades win 28 - 21

Grenades win in the third quarter when neither team can field a full team and they are already in the lead.

GAME FOUR:
Browncoats win 33 - 17
Browncoats use the rules of the game and see the Leviathans get blackflagged until they can't field a full team and forfeit.

GAME FIVE:
Pandas win 13 - 6

GAME SIX:
Crows win 40 - 33
HORCRUX/RIDDLE UPDATE:
Following up on the dual clues last week, RIDDLE was able to deduce that the next two targets are Pinhead's Lament Configuration puzzle box and the Holocaust Cloak hanging in the Eels trophy room. As of now, the coalition has not come up with a strategy to destroy either item.

Sentinels vs MIA

THE CYBERTRON SENTINELS
vs.
THE ALDERAAN MIA

Coin Toss: Han helps the Sentinels shoot first (or in this case, receive)
Kickoff: Kamen Rider kicks for a pickup by Rocky, who makes a large gain before being taken down by Conan.
Game Synopsis: The Sentinels can't seem to catch a break. Every week they seem to be working better as a team with a more united front, but keep being outmatched by some of the top ranked teams. This is what we see this week. The Sentinels play a sound game, but the MIA - coming off a rough week mourning several starters, are united in their effort for redemption. The Fastest Team Alive proves their worth.

Final: CS 38 - MIA 56

Leviathans vs MIA

THE INNSMOUTH LEVIATHANS
vs.
THE ALDERAAN MIA

Coin Toss: Leviathans win, will receive.
Kickoff: Aragorn kicks for a pickup by Smaug, who makes a large gain before being taken down by Mr. Fantastic.
Game Synopsis: Many things could be said about this game, but simplicity is king. Perhaps taking up the mantle left behind by the Hippie-Punchers, the Leviathans finally bring the pain they've been meaning to the whole year. Football? Pst. The MIA have the score in the bag from the first down. But they don't walk away unscathed.

Final: IL 17 - MIA 108

Season 3 Week 5 Interim: Horcrux Two

Back at it again, the RIDDLE Coalition is looking to pick up where they left off.

Sensing what the clue is in reference too, the following teams took the following actions:

As a result, the following exchange takes place:

FROM THE MIA:
The Holo of Wynn Dorvan fades, and Leia sits up in her comfortable office chair, lines of worry and stress etched in her face.
"Okay R2, start recording..." R2 beeps a confirmation.
"Greeting Mand'alor. I'v recently received word that you may be in possession of a dark artifact, referred to as a Horcrux. This artifact is dangerous, not only to you, but the the galaxy at large. Your recents elevated position as leader of your people would lead me to believe you would take this information seriously. This message is both a request, and a warning. We are both in positions of power in the grand scheme of things, and I'm hoping diplomacy, well, my kind of diplomacy will work to solve the problem at hand. If not, then the Senate, myself, and the majority of the HFL shall resort to your style ...
FROM THE SENTINELS
A lone Firespray-31-class scout craft and a familiar YT-1300 Correlian light freighter enter Coruscant's atmosphere, and enter the busy cityscape. Han Solo on radios on the comlink from his cockpit "Yes, this is Han Solo of the Cybertron Sentinels, I was given permission to land a few minutes ago from the traffic controller, what's the hold up?" A young and skeptic voice replies over the comm "How do I know it's really you? A lot of people can mimic voices these days" Han chuckles and replies "Kid, I've been saving the galaxy since before you were a twinkle in your daddy's eye, If you don't think I'm real, take a look outside your window and you'll see all the proof you need" .

As the young captain looks out his window, the Millenium Falcon buzzes his tower, causing his coffee to spill on his desk. He sighs " Yes Falcon, you have permission to land, have a nice day" . "The price of fame, sometimes you just hate it" , a slightly annoyed Lando Calrissian, who has been sitting in the co pilot's chair the whole time, mutters. "It's not that bad" Han says, "I'm just glad he isn't begging for an autograph" . "Are you kidding? As far as HFL goes we're in the gutter, we need a win", replies Lando. "Hopefully that'll be soon, Lando, We've had some extra practice with help from the Asgardian Abberrations over the last week or so after all" . Optimus Primal smiles and simply says "Well that's just prime".

Shortly after, Han, Lando, Optimus Primal, and Boba Fett are in the main office of the Alderaan MIA. "I understand that this thing is of pure evil, I can almost sense the dark spark of Voldermont right here" , a calm and passive Optimus Primal exclaims. "We will hopefully take care of this artifact soon enough" Boba Fett replies.

FROM THE MIA
Leia studies the faces in her office. There's her beloved Han, father of her children, hero of the galaxy time and again. The silent, helmeted stare of Fett, unnerving as usual. The sole reason they are here. Then there's the creature she's never met yet, towering over the other two, Optimus Primal. Lastly, the light hearted, good natured Lando Calrissian. She lets her eyes shift from one to the other, lingering on Han, and giving him a coy smile. She clears her throat.
"Gentleman, thank you for coming. We all know why we are here. So let's get down to business."
Her gaze shifts to Fett, and she shifts in her seat, sitting straight, and places her folded hands on her desk.
"I'm not exactly aware of the power of these artifacts, but I do know they are great indeed. Terrible, but great. As Optimus said, I too can feel the darkness within it."
She points just beyond Fett.
"Your jet pack, Fett. That is the Horcrux. If any of you watched the Immortals game, then you witnessed one such Horcrux destroyed. Now, I have not the means nor the knowledge to destroy this one in such a way, but I do have a plan. I'm not sure if any of you know what The Maw is.."
Han shifts uncomfortably in his seat.
"... Except maybe Han. The Maw is, or more accurately, was Abeloths... prison, if you will. An abandoned sister space station of the one my late son Anakin destroyed, Centerpoint. The Maw is encircled by a series of super massive black holes. Centerpoint was the tool that kept these black holes in check. Once it was destroyed, one of the black holes shifted slightly, thus freeing Abeloth. That was very bad news when we found out about it, when we learned what Centerpoint, The Maw, and Abeloth was. But for us, now, this can be good news. Due to the resulting shift of one of the black holes, two are now "waring" with each other. The points of no return, where the gravitational pull is so strong there is no escape once you reach this point, are playing a sort of tug of war with each other. My plan, is to shoot this Horcrux into the center of these two points of no return, and let the gravitational pulls rip it apart at the cellular level. And no worries, Fett. I shall replace your jet pack, with one not tainted by any dark magics."
She falls silent, waiting for any objection, comment, or concern.

FROM THE LEAGUE COMMISSIONER

THE SENTINELS PLAY THE CROWS THIS WEEK, THE NEXT GAME. STAY TUNED TO SEE WHAT BECOMES OF HORCRUX NUMBER TWO.

MIA vs Militants

THE ALDERAAN MIA
vs.
THE MILITANTS OF OOO

Coin Toss: Militants win, will receive
Kickoff: Aragorn kicks for a pickup by Rick Deckard, who makes practically no gain before being tackled by Mr. Fantastic, fumbling the ball which is picked up by Rocky the Flying Squirrel for an immediate touchdown.
Game Synopsis: Much like MIA's last game, we see two very different teams. The MIA are the fastest team alive, and the Militants bring out a beefed up defensive foot clan line that manages to catch up with them and prevent a straight runaway game. Meanwhile the Militants have one of the best passing QBs in the League, but can't rely on their old faithful Hagrid for the slow runs because Gorilla Grodd is one of the few who can take him down. So instead of seeing instant return touchdowns, we see teams having to rely on their tactics and minds to outmaneuver the other. The tactical advantage is slight, but does exist, and we see the MIA manage to land a few more touchdowns than the Militants. Look forward to these two teams becoming better and better, especially if they are not being paired with the top ranked teams.

Final: MIA 87 - MOO 69

MIA vs Pandas

THE ALDERAAN MIA
vs.
THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT PANDAS

Coin Toss: Pandas win, will receive
Kickoff: Aragorn kicks to Fred Flintstone, who makes a large gain before being taken down by Mr. Fantastic.
Entire Game Synopsis: This game, holy shit this game. We see two very unique play styles. The "Fastest Team Alive" MIA against a strong passing team: the Pandas. What ends up saving the day for the MIA is that they have slower carrying time, typically scoring touchdowns with just one play with their speed that the Kingsguard just can't outmatch, and their superior tactical knowledge thanks to Dash. Meanwhile the Pandas play a strong passing game that sees successive first downs leading to touchdowns that Grodd on the MIA offense can't keep up with. Here is a typical MIA running play:
With lines like this, you'd think Marty was on their team and not an opponent.

Final: MIA 60 - SHP 54

Crows vs. MIA

THE CHARMING CROWS
vs.
THE ALDERAAN M.I.A.
Coin Toss: MIA win, will receive
Kickoff: Green Arrow throws long to Scout, who avoids Sonic for a return a touchdown.
1st Quarter: Weakened by the loss of one of their members last week, the Alderaan defensive line can't seem to block all the receivers and we see the Crows play a tight passing game that gets them a touchdown and a conversion. However, the Alderaan offensive line easily outruns the Crows defense for a fast return touchdown followed by a QB sneak by Flash for the conversion. This repeats itself for the entire quarter as the Crows slowly pass upfield for eventual success and the MIA quickly zip into the end zone.
2nd Quarter: Knowing they are keeping their team from pulling ahead, the MIA defense manages to lower the offensive tactical might of Crow QB Sinestro for the quarter. Realizing this, the Crows begin to go down their line as several members use abilities designed to distract or incapacitate the defense. This allows the entire quarter to become a quick succession of MIA speedsters entering the end zone, and Crows ignoring the defense to return as well.
2nd Half: As both of the second half quarters play like the first, there isn't really much to say. The MIA machine can't be caught by the Crows defense, and even subbing in King Kong only stops them for one down here and there. Meanwhile, the MIA defense can't hold back the Crows who continue to return. In the end, the MIA take it by one touchdown - the return touchdown from the first kickoff.

Final: CC 56 - MIA 62

MIA vs. Grenades

THE ALDERAAN MIA
vs.
THE ATLUS ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADES
Coin Toss: MIA win, will receive
Kickoff: Walter kicks to Scout, who immediately makes a touchdown.
Game Synopsis: The Flash and the MIA keep the Grenades trailing for the first half, but a third quarter odd vibration collision on the sidelines caused by the erratic Cosmo Kramer puts The Flash out of service for the game, and Aang beefs up and joins in the fourth to help the Grenades catch up and far surpass the MIA.

Final: AMIA 14 - RPG 27

Aberrations vs. MIA

THE ASGARDIAN ABERRATIONS

vs.
THE ALDERAAN M.I.A.

Coin Toss: MIA win, will receive
Kickoff: Squirrel Girl kicks to Aragorn and immediately her quirky beauty stuns the ranger, who then immediately is convinced by Uncle Sam to spend some time with the Aberrations. Aragorn steps out of the end zone after catching the ball only to step back into it and kneel, giving the Aberrations two points.
1st Quarter: The odd start is shaken off as Aragorn is escorted off the field and replaced by Speed Racer. The Flash relies heavily on a running game and keeps Lobo busy, allowing a slow-but-steedy march of downs. Gray Mouser ends up inexplicably slipping by Lobo for a 18 yard touchdown giving the MIA the lead. Arthur takes to the air to go over Lobo for the conversion. The slow march of the MIA waste most of the quarter's time, so time runs out after the Aberrations gain possession.
2nd Quarter: The Animaniacs use their ability to soften the tactical might of Demoman. The already erratic quarterback then decides that the best course of action is to blow some shit up. A shotgun formation leads to Demoman launching a long pass that is intercepted by Dot Warner - but OH NO, its not the football. Its a grenade. As the crowd cries and Yakko and Wakko dive to take cover from bits of Dot, they fail to notice that the ball was actually sleight-of-handed to Drizz't who took to the outside and is in the endzone for a touchdown. The remaining animaniacs, still reeling, can't stop Drizz't from successfully completing the conversion. The MIA take the carry with plenty of time on the clock and the offense is already sporting black armbands. Legolas and The Flash work hand in hand to continue to fight a dual-forked running game that keeps Lobo guessing. Moving at a much faster pace, Legolas finally enters the endzone. Arthur fails at the kick, much to the dismay of everyone. The Aberrations gain possession and make a strong push before the halftime.
3rd Quarter: The second half starts with the Aberrations in control near their own 45. Not content to settle with just murder, the Aberrations take the running game style of the MIA and turn it against them with their magnetic fastball. Demoman keeps handing the ball over to Wolverine who is pushed forward by teammate Magneto from the bench for a first down every single play. Logan takes the easy touchdown and Squirrel Girl succeeds on the kick. The MIA take back the ball for a long haul. Gorilla Grodd takes to having a personal fight with Lobo that doesn't hurt him but makes Grodd feel better and keeps Lobo busy. This allows Scout to make a quick 80 yard touchdown. Starscream helps Arthur land the kick this time. The Aberrations quickly land another touchdown thanks to their magnetic fastballs. The conversion is good. The quarter ends with the MIA carrying at their own 20.
4th Quarter: Wakko and Yakko get a little bit of vengeance for their lost sister when they trick Magneto into pulling a sledgehammer full speed into himself on the Aberrations bench while they are sitting on the MIA bench. This gives the MIA a penalty and pushes them back 5, but Scout and gang manage to still make the touchdown after a few minutes of driving downfield. With Magneto knocked out, Wolverine can't rely on the overly-easy fastball but the team is still strong. A strong Simba comes in from the bench and Drizz't takes a ride on the returned king to the endzone. During this series of plays Donatello slips to the Aberrations bench and reprograms Starscream so he can no longer aid his teammates. The weakened MIA begin a long drive that takes up most of the time on the clock until Lobo manages to intercept a throw to the weakened Starscream when the benched Sherlock Holmes tells him what play is about to run. With the carry and seconds left,  Vash the Stampede finally drops his stupidity act and runs a touchdown for the solid win. The conversion is good.

@ The Graveyard Astrodome

Synopsis: With their paragon in play, the Stereotypes make light work of the MIA.

MIA vs Cyberbrains

The Alderaan MIA vs. The Chiba Cyberbrains
@ The Graveyard Astrodome

Paragon Percentage: Luke Skywalker will enter play.
Coin Toss: Cyberbrains win, will receive.
Kickoff: Bruenor kicks long to Chris Benoit, who immediately loses his shit and fights his way through for a touchdown - injuring himself, Mr. Fantastic, and Eric Duckman.
Entire Game Synopsis: After the initial success during kickoff, the MIA lock down their end zone and don't allow anyone to threaten it again. They know what its like to lose their home. Luke relies heavily on Sonic and oddly - the Joker - for a blow out game. Major highlight is Sonic using a stolen Dr. Robotnik Rebotisizer to bring the Cylons back.
Result: AMIA 48 - CC 6

MIA vs Grenades

The Alderaan MIA
vs.
The Atlus Rocket Propelled Grenades
@ The Graveyard Astrodome

Paragon Percentage: Neither paragon will enter play.
Coin Toss: Grenades win, will receive.
Kickoff: Bruenor kicks a long one to Scruffy, who makes a very short gain before being taken down by Mr. Fantastic.
Entire Game Synopsis: These two teams spend most of the game locked in a battle of slow gains, with no one team pulling ahead. Many turnovers happen (mostly because Sonic may be fast but any slight breeze and he drops the ball), but the winning play happens early in the third when the Grenades succeed on a try. This single point wins them the game at the end. Highlights include: Dean and Eomer having an old fashioned jousting but Dean wins due to, well, hes in a fucking car. Not on a horse; C.J. Parker seducing Dean not long afterwards; Swampthing catching up with the Battletoads during the halftime show; and Walter and the Joker comparing weapons.

Automatons vs. MIA

The Mithril Automatons vs. The Alderaan MIA
@ The Grayeyard Astrodome

Paragon Percentage: Neither paragon will enter play.
Coin Toss: MIA win, will receive
Kickoff: Zapp kicks to Mr. Fantastic, who begins to use his ability to attempt an immediate touchdown when he is blocked by Shang Tsung so roughly that he is actually injured immediately and drops the ball. Shang picks the fumble up and activates his own Soul Stealing mimicry to use Mr. Fantastic's ability against him - scoring a return-return touchdown for the Automatons.
First Quarter: The MIA attempt to recover and King Arthur comes in for the injured Mr. Fantastic. Harley and Joker manage a bombplay and score for the MIA but fail in their real goal of injuring Ionioi as they are beefed up thanks to the aid of Iskandar. Iskandar retaliates with a chariot touchdown and an easy conversion. The MIA gain the ball again with Kitana taking over flex duties for the removed-after-bomb Joker while Mr. Miyagi replaces Harley for the same reason. Miyagi's tactical might allows him to utilize Sonic and get around the Automatons defense for another touchdown, but the dreams of that continuing are dashed when the Army of the King injure him during the try attempt. He is replaced by Harry Dresden.
Second Quarter: The Automatons start strong when Shang, though too worn out to use his kink again - allows teammate Kirby to use his kink and thus gain Mr. Fantastic's ability - using it to immediately score. During this same play V manages to injure the Battletoads, who are replaced by Kyle Broflovski - leaving the MIA bench empty. Working with second rate players, the MIA manage to fumble but Kitana forces Ionioi to fumble it back with her kink but it doesn't help. Time runs out during their third down.
Second Half: Harry manages to incapacitate the Army of the King for a play so the MIA can score, but its the last of endzone they'll see. The Automatons make a show of systematically increasing their score against their opponents, but refuse to injure anyone else so they can have more time to do so without the game being called.

Cyberbrains vs. MIA

The Chiba Cyberbrains vs. The Alderaan MIA
@ The Section 9 Superdome

Paragon Percentage: Luke Skywalker will enter play.
Coin Toss: MIA win, will receive.
Kickoff: Guile kicks a long one way back to Mr. Fantastic, who valiantly crosses half the field before being brought down by the Hulkster.
First Quarter: Luke is able to use the skills of his team to their fullest, resulting in easy first downs and touchdowns from the start. The Cylons are great at blocking but he seems to be able to find his way around them. Meanwhile Vega does manage to keep his team moving forward against the Battletoads but its not nearly as consistent or easy, and doesn't result in a touchdown every possession.
Second Quarter: Finally snapping, Vega takes out the Battletoads and before replacement King Arthur can get situated a number of turnovers and offensive blitz allows the Cyberbrains to close the gap and gain the lead. Not content with this failure, Skywalker manages to stop the rally and reverse the odds again and leads the MIA back into the end zone, ending the first half up by 5.
Third Quarter: Benoit gives it all to allow the Cyberbrains a touchdown, and is replaced by Buzzsaw. An injured Hulk manages to hulk up for a play and land another one, giving the Cyberbrains a small lead. But Luke ends the quarter with back-to-back touchdown-intercept-touchdown combos, blowing the Cyberbrains chances.
Fourth Quarter: A sad quarter spent waiting for the time to run out, as the MIA advance their lead with ease.

Result: CC 37 - AMIA 69

Phoenixes vs. MIA

The Planet Zeist Phoenixes vs. The Alderaan MIA
@ The Graveyard Astrodome
CONFERENCE QUALIFIERS

Coin Toss: Phoenixes win, will kick
Kickoff: Lohan launches the entire length of the field to Sonic, who immediately scores.
1st Half: With the speed and reflex that Sonic holds, the MIA take a lead and maintain it until The Comedian ends the "sonic problem." Shredder replaces The Comedian, while Sonic is replaced by Scooby Doo. Connor manages to close the gap of their lead towards half with successful touchdowns to Spidey and Bourne.
2nd Half: Bourne forgets everything and has to be replaced by Hellboy. Vader injures Nightcrawler who is replaced by Dean Winchester. When Blade gets a penalty, his teammate Robocop takes him out for violating the rules. They are replaced by Beavis and Mulder. The Phoenixes manage an amazing series of interceptions and touchdowns when Hellboy goes full Devil followed by Dean driving his car and finally Shredder going Super Shredder. The final play is Riddick telling bad one-liners to Coach Leia about how he is headed to the Underverse and can help the MIAs find their home again. Distracted, the Phoenixes squeak out a victory.

RESULT: PZP 33 - MIA 26

MIA vs. Explorers

The Alderaan MIA vs. The Enterprise Explorers
@ The Memory Alpha Amphitheatre

Coin Toss: Explorers win, will receive.
Kickoff: Robocop kicks, Harry Potter catches, run most of the length before lateraling to MCClane. McClane scores. Conversion successful.
1st: Sonic manages two running touchdowns (tries unsuccessful) before being injured by Hong Kong Phooey. He is replaced by Scooby Doo. Winchester scores twice and McClane once. All conversion are successful.
2nd: To add insult to injury, this entire quarter is a shut out for the MIAs. Benoit kicks it off with a Do or Die play (he does both) and then Potter pulls a Deus Ex Machina play.
3rd: The MIAS attempt a rally, and do well initially. Captain and Luke both hit the endzone, but no tries are successful and their defense just can't hold back McClane and Winchester who each hit the zone multiple times.
4th: A repeat of the third quarter almost play by play.

RESULT: MIA 36 - EE 102

Spartans vs. MIA

The Requiem Spartans vs. The Alderaan MIA @ The Graveyard Astrodome

Coin Toss: Spartans win, will receive.
Kickoff: Robocop kicks to Drizzt. Drizzt backpasses to Godzilla. Touchdown Spartans.
1st Quarter Synopsis: High scoring round. Sonic and Godzilla aid their teams greatly with their speed. Towards the end of the quarter, both are injured and replaced by Scooby Doo and Michelangelo respectively.
2nd Quarter Synopsis: Without the might of their runners, both teams attempt to move into a passing game. Both teams score just once, via Predator and Luke Skywalker. All trys fail.
3rd Quarter Synopsis: Finally finding a groove, the two sides seem to be caught in a stalemate with neither reaching a fourth down and the game staying around the RS 35 yard line the entire quarter. However, on the final fourth down of the quarter, the Spartans bring out Green Arrow who succeeds on a field goal from this spot.
4th Quarter Synopsis: The MIA start out strong with a touchdown and two point conversion giving a healthy lead, but a bad fumble and a safety by the Spartans close the gap slightly. This is followed immediately by a field goal due to their success with it last quarter which is also successful. The rally is brought to a halt however when neither team manages to score again before the clock runs out.
