EELS vs LEVIATHANS
A passing game back and forth ends when the Leviathans have too many players blackflagged for injury, allowing the Eels to win as the current points leader at 21 - 14

MILITANTS vs SENTINELS
In the second upset of the week, the winless Sentinels break their bad luck streak on the backs of the Militants 32 - 27, mostly as a result of the Militants having several starters injured early on.

PANDAS vs CROWS

Coin Toss: Pandas win, will receive
Kickoff: Buzzsaw kicks for a pickup by Indiana Jones, who manages a decent gain before being taken down by Wonder Woman.
Game Synopsis: The first quarter of the game sees the Crows gain a considerable lead, as the Panda defense can't even touch their offensive line. Jax Teller comes in during the first quarter replacing King Kong as defense for one play. This gives the Pandas basically a free touchdown but during the play Jax injures Fred Flintstone, putting him out for the game. Kong returns to defense after this. Things finally turn darker for the Crows when Neil Patrick Harris manages to seduce Wonder Woman away from the Crows. Kong is deflated and upset and not quite as potent as he previously was, though still stronger than the Panda defense. The Pandas restructure their line. During the second quarter the sexual harrassers manage a few touchdowns and cycle through several bench players. Thunderbird replaces the dejected Kong for a play and ends up injuring Ambush Bug. However the Pandas manage to utilize Kirk to counteract the efficiency of The Doctor. During the second half, Jax returns for a play and injures Cowardly Lion before he gains the courage to fight back. The Pandas turn Wonder Woman against her former teammates and manage to get the truth of their playbook out of them, allowing them to return score. In the end it comes down to raw stats as the slightly superior Kong defense and the fourth quarter injection of Neville without the Pandas own Lion to counteract gives them the upperhand.

After the game the Crows are seen cussing out their newest recruit The War Doctor for allowing Kirk to get into his head.

Season 3, Week 8

Commissioner's Note: Due to lack of strategies being sent in, and thus lack of plentiful writeups - coupled with finals week, this week will be one quick post with highlights.

GAME ONE:

Aberrations beat Impalers 48 - 21
Highlights: A new player
“As the Aberrations take the field, a new creature comes with them.  It seems to be a giant insect of some sort, complete with huge mandibles and long forearms, with 4 very strong, shorter, human arms attached to the torso.  As the Abberations lineup is announced, they call it “Umber Goro”, and seem to have it playing…kicker…”

Ousa is resurrected from death last week by Jozan. The Aberrations re-kill Falkor.
GAME TWO:

The Eels test their streak with a slight win in triple overtime over the MIA - 121 to 118

GAME THREE:
Grenades win 28 - 21
Grenades win in the third quarter when neither team can field a full team and they are already in the lead.

GAME FOUR:

Browncoats win 33 - 17

Browncoats use the rules of the game and see the Leviathans get blackflagged until they can't field a full team and forfeit.

HORCRUX/RIDDLE UPDATE:
Following up on the dual clues last week, RIDDLE was able to deduce that the next two targets are Pinhead's Lament Configuration puzzle box and the Holocaust Cloak hanging in the Eels trophy room. As of now, the coalition has not come up with a strategy to destroy either item.

Kickoff: Kong kicks for a pickup by Took, who is tackled by Blackbeard.

Game Synopsis: The Browncoats are still feeling the loss of tactical genius and former quarterback Neil DeGrasse Tyson. However they still have a very fast team. The Automatons rely on a slightly more tactical game. The defensive ends of both teams fail to keep up with their opponents offense. In the end its the speed of the Browncoats and Took's interceptions that put them ahead.

Pandas vs Browncoats

THE SEXUAL HARASSMENT PANDAS

THE BIG DAMN BROWNCOATS

Coin Toss: Pandas win, will receive

Kickoff: Megaman kicks long for a pickup by The Cowardly Lion, who makes a large gain before being tackled by Gimli. 

Game Synopsis: The Browncoats are recovering from their loss last week of star QB and tactician Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and it shows this week. Without the foresight provided by him, the team falls behind as Hannibal leads the Pandas ahead. Both teams manage to get around the others defensive line. The Browncoats do so with pure speed, while the Pandas manage to outsmart. Though the Pandas do win, they also receive a bit of a setback off the field when a large machine enters from the stands and attacks Captain America. 

This creature then collects the shield from Captain and keeps it in a closed hand. Using the anti-fortress Noble Phantasm, the machine is destroyed by its pilot which also results in the destruction of the shield.

Eels vs. Browncoats

THE GUILDER BAY SHRIEKING EELS

Coin Toss: Eels win, will kick

Kickoff: Jesus comes out and kicks for a pickup by Spy, who manages to return for a touchdown. But the crowd goes silent when they see that Browncoat Quarterback Neil Degrasse Tyson is down. "Jesus" begins to laugh and the crowd notices that it isn't his normal #1 jersey but the #7 of 7 of Lord Voldemort, who polymorphs back to his regular self and cackles as he leaves the field. Degrasse is dead. 

Game Synopsis: An angered Browncoat offense brings out second string QB Stainless Steel Rat, and begin an aggressive running game that sees them put many points on the board in the first half. But this proves to be their downfall, as a pissed off Hulk finally manages to get his hands on Spy and Rey Mysterio and injures them, while Professor X successfully mind controls Glenn Rhee - wrecking the superior speed of the Browncoats. The Eels pull ahead and spend the last quarter padding their lead.

Coin Toss: Militants win, will receive

Kickoff: Megaman kicks long to Rick Decard, who makes a short gain before being put down by Bullroarer.

Entire Game Synopsis: Once again sadly there isn't much of a PR write up to provide here, but because all four quarters share the same plays. For the Browncoats, Neil manages to predict and relay to his offensive and defensive lines the Militant plays, causing them heartache. However his defense still can't keep up with the Militant offense. We see a very slow game of downs, with the score remaining close all game. In the end the extra passing distance that Hawkeye brings to the Militants and their ability to outrun the Browncoat defense gives them the edge.

Browncoats vs. Impalers

Coin Toss: Impalers win, will receive.

Kickoff: Megaman launches long to Predator, who avoids Swanson and makes a large gain before being taken down by Rey Mysterio, Jr. - almost (but not quite) fumbling the ball. 

Entire Game Synopsis: The Impaler offense proves too fast for the Cylons Browncoats to catch, and easily outmaneuver them for a quick touchdown and conversion. For the Browncoats, Neil manages to correctly predict the Bregan D'arethe Immortal Defense plays enough to put the team on a series of first downs to a touchdown and conversion. Though occasionally one team manages to hold back the other for a play or so using a kink, the team rushes or intelligently marches on during the next play. The game remains tied when the clock finally runs out. 

Overtime: In Halftime the Immortals look poised to score and finally put an end to the madness when Browncoat Stainless Steel Rat manages to trick them into giving up the ball. With possession and a final chance to win, Neil hands off to Lancer who laterals to Spy, but Spy catches it before he even throws it, putting Spy on the outside line to run it in for a touchdown.

Kickoff: Arrow kicks long to Swanson, who rolls for a short gain before being taken down so brutally it confirms his handicap.
Game Synopsis: Here we see two completely different styles of play. The smart Browncoats predict and analyze and attack the hard-hitting, rugged Crows. The Crows pull away towards the end only because the Browncoats can't sustain the heavy hits and receive a few injuries. When Neil gets injured in the third, it really hurts the Browncoats.

Browncoats vs. Sentinels

Coin Toss: Han Solo always shoots first, and as such the Sentinels go first regardless
Kickoff: Megaman kicks long for a catch by Han Solo, who makes it to the fifty in less than twelve parsecs but is aggressively tackled by the Cylons. 

1st Quarter: Fett begins an intense passing game for the Sentinels utlizing an entire field of eligible carriers who can easily outrun the Browncoat defense (except for Ana, but she just wants to get caught and chained up...). Ethan gets a touchdown on the third play and He-Man succeeds in the conversion. Neil and the gang come out ready to retaliate and Neil manages to immediately guess the Sentintels defensive play, making for an easy touchdown run by Spy. Spy then uses his ability to easily slip by the defense for the conversion. With the ball back in their hands, the Sentinels look to break the tie and again rely on a passing game. He-Man summons Battle Cat and rides in to the end zone while Kamen Rider Ichigo succeeds on the extra point to round out the first quarter.

2nd Quarter: Again Neil guesses the play of the G.I. Joe Sentinel defense, and makes a long almost-out-of-bounds pass to Rey Mysterio, Jr. for an immediate touchdown. Hofstader uses his "prop" ring to slip in for the two point conversion. The Sentinels take the ball and Data shows that he can do the same when he guesses the Browncoat defense and manages to have Joe wheel into the end zone for a touchdown. This time the Sentinels go for two and are successful. Neil comes back out and yet again reads the minds of the opponent defense and we see the same exchange. 

2nd Half: Neil and Data begin a long showdown that results in return touchdowns and successful conversions without a single failure for the entire remainder of the game. In the end it comes down to the Browncoats by one due to the Sentinels having done a single point extra kick once instead of a conversion.

Browncoats vs Steamies

The Big Damn Browncoats vs. The Sodor Steamies

@ Serenity Valley Stadium

Paragon Percentage: River Tam will enter play!

Coin Toss: Steamies win, will receive.

Kickoff: Ichigo kicks to Gorilla Grodd, who powerhouses by all for an immediate touchdown.

First: The Steamies start strong thanks to Grodd and Raistlin. Easily able to overcome the Browncoats defense until River switches to defense and gridlocks them. After a fast rally, the Browncoats begin to return the favor. The first quarter ends tied.

Second: The Steamies begin to push for another rally that is cut short when Grodd is removed for viscously attacking Frozone on the sidelines. With Grodd out, River and Gromph easily injure the physically frail Raistlin. 

Third & Fourth: With Grodd disqualified and Raistlin injured, the Browncoats halt any further scoring from the Steamies and spend the entire half advancing their lead.

Result: BDB 58 - SS 21

Game Synopsis: The Browncoats bring their A game, and the Knights may have as well but it doesn't even compare. By midway through the second quarter, the stadium begins to empty.

 Paragon Percentage: River Tam will enter play.

Coin Toss: Browncoats win, will receive.

Kick off: GIR kicks to Frozone, who outruns Lobo for an immediate touchdown.

First: With River on defense, the two teams gridlock early in the game. Lobo manages to easily block the few who can outrun, while River manages to keep Hawkeye from having open men. Finally a lateral play with Legolas allows the Aberrations to even the scoreboard. But this is quickly bypassed when Dovahkiin uses his Thu'um to incapacitate Lobo, and the Browncoats score again.

Second: Gromph takes out Lobo for a play allowing Frog to score, but the temporary effect wears off and Lobo is back. Donatello also returns to play after taking time to repair GIR. Again a Thu'um sends Lobo away so the Browncoats can hit the endzone. Trailing, the Aberrations receive a literal break when Brienne gets a lucky strike on River, sending the paragon out of play.

Second Half: The phenomenally strong start of the Browncoats fades away without the strong defense offered by River. A few kink and tricks keep them hitting the endzone a couple times, but the Aberrations have enough time to catch up and take over the lead.

Result: AA 41 - BDB 36

Browncoats vs Miners

@ Serenty Valley Stadium

 Paragon Percentage: River Tam will enter play

Coin Toss: Miners win, will receive.

Kickoff: Ichigo kicks to Merry, who avoids Quartermain but is tackled by Edgar Frog

Entire Game Synopsis: Blowout game. The Miners trailed horribly, and with River in play the entire match is one-sided. Highlight of the game is Bowser kidnapping Lohan but no one came to rescue her.

Result: BDB 61 - MM 13

Browncoats vs. Sentinels

The Big Damn Browncoats vs. The Cybertron Sentinels

@ Serenity Valley Stadium

Paragon Percentage: Han Solo will enter the fray.



Coin Toss: Browncoats win, will receive

Kick off: Megaman launches a long launch to Frozone, who outruns Beorn and He-Man and iceslides all the way to a touchdown.

First: Following a successful start, the Browncoats feel the pain as Han Solo boots Charles out (whose in charge here anyway) and takes over for the Sentinels. Though he manages to keep the team scoring, he can't halt the Browncoats from overrunning Huey, Dewey, and Louie. So after a few carries he decides to take over for defense after the quarter.

Second: Han enters defense and is immediately baffled when Gromph manages to trick him out with a move (its more of slightly going left) and get a touchdown though he prevents the try. The constructicons form into Devestator and manage to prevent the Sentinels from entering the endzone for quite some time, but finally Cobra Commander and his soldiers manage to overload the Constructicons and land themselves back in the Browncoats endzone, and succeed at the try which brings the score to a tie at half time.
Third: In a similar maneuver (but this time its a lazy lean to the right - aha!) Dovahkin manages to negate Han and get the Browncoats to the endzone, and the try succeeds when he does the same thing but to the left. Come on Han.......starting to think Chewie watches your blind side. Finally, a pissed off Han hears from the coach that they're losing to whcih he replies "I Know" and switched back to offense. Easily bypassing the Constructicons, Han manages to enter the end zone himself and passes one over to Lando for old times sake, giving them their first lead of the night. The Browncoats fail to make headway back when Han duals as offense again, but in the final moment on a fourth and long they bring out Ichigo who manages a 60+ yard field goal to finish the quarter with the Browncoats down 1.

Fourth: Beorn brings the fury - and the furry - when he goes full bear, plowing through and injuring the Constructicons, who are replaced by Dorothy Gale. The Browncoats manage to get around Han during their carry when Frozone remembers Han's greatest weakness: being frozen! The try brings the score tied again with seconds left, and He-Man summons Battlecat into the endzone for a touchdown. Seemingly victorious, the Sentinels are off their guard during their try attempt and fumble the ball which is then recovered by Dorothy who uses her ruby red shoes to wish herself into the endzone, tying the score again and bringing us into....
Sudden Death Overtime: ...but her rally ends quickly when Liu Kang flying kicks her down, allowing Starscream to fly to the endzone and win the game.

Result: BDB 52 - CS 58

Browncoats vs. Leviathans

The Big Damn Browncoats vs. The Innsmouth Leviathans

@ The R'lyeh Municipal Field

Paragon Percentage: River Tam and Cthulhu will both enter play.
Coin Toss: Leviathans win, will receive.
Kickoff: Ichigo sends a long drive down to Michael Myers, who is taken down by Bowser and River after a short gain.
First Quarter: River takes over for the Constructicons and begins handling the Browncoats defense, but much of her attention is taken by Cthulhu who has entered the fray for the Leviathans. Though Cthulhu fails to remove her sanity from her, he does manage to distract her long enough for Throttle to land a couple touchdowns. However the Browncoats fight back when Gromph and Edgar injure the Urak-hai and even out the score by the end of the quarter.

Second Quarter: Frankenstein's Monster takes over defense duties for the leviathans, and feels considerably less like a monster in the shadow of Cthulhu. Innsmouth attempts a Rally but are devastated when River decides to ignore Cthulhu for a round and gains control over Throttle's mind. Cthulhu manages to injure her and both are removed from play, but unbeknownst to the refs she is still able enough to hide in Throttle's thoughts. It takes the entirity of the quarter for the Leviathans to figure out what is going on, but by then the damage is done. Fast man Throttle causes multiple turnovers and even a couple safeties, and by halftime the Browncoats have a hefty lead.

Third Quarter: An angry Cthulhu, though relegated to the sidelines, decides two can play that game. He gazes hard into Quartermain until the man loses all sanity, and begins throwing the ball to members of the Leviathans. This allows a renewed and belittled Throttle to renew himself by closing the gap with interception touchdowns. The refs finally remove all out-of-play benchwarmers back to the locker rooms to prevent further interference with the game.

Fourth Quarter: Working with second-string players and angry at each other for the actions of the other's paragons, the teams begin a angry all-out-assault on each other. Nearly ever play is a blitz and possessions are changing without any new first downs. In the final moments second-string Browncoat kicker Madea makes the only score of the quarter with a 30 yard field goal to seal the victory.

Browncoats vs. Knights

The Big Damn Browncoats vs. The Gotham Knights

@ Serenity Valley Stadium

Paragon Percentage: Neither Paragon will enter the game.

Coin Toss: Browncoats win, will receive

Kickoff: Brak gives a weak kick, picked up by Frozone, who carries until tackled by Raze at the GK10 Yard Line.

1st Quarter:  After many false starts, some teamwork with Bowser holding off the Three Storms finally allows the Browncoats to score. Ichigo follows up with the successful kick try. The Knights take possession and have a much better speed advantage with speed over the Constructicons, managing to land a long run touchdown on their third down. However things change when they go for the kick try and Hook of the Constructicons grabs the ball and manages a long touchdown turnover. Ichigo comes back out to land another try. The Knights run out of town on their final down of the quarter.
2nd Quarter: The quarter starts out scoreless as the teams exchange possession a few times, but an exasperated Gromph finally pulls out the inner Archmage and takes out the Three Storms momentarily, allowing Quartermain to easily score. The Knights look to make a return rally afterwards but the Constructicons morph together into Devestator and steamroll them.
3rd Quarter: The Constructicons are removed from play after their last bit, having injured Sookie and Snake. The Knights Who Say Ni take their place while Ren & Stimpy limp out to replace the injured Knights. The slowness of the Knights Who Say Ni finally allows the Gotham Knights...

...to rally back. Jesus lands successful touchdown passes to Blade and Raze. Both tries are successful. The Browncoats run out of time on their fourth down, but bring Ichigo out to kick and he manages a successful 45 yard field goal.

4th Quarter:  Raze takes out the Knights Who Say Ni and gets away with it, but in their last moments they are able to force him out of the game for a quarter. Dorothy Gale replaces the Knights while Raze is replaced by Zorak. The teams then manage successful touchdowns and tries back and forth twice. Then, in the finals trailing by 4, Blade makes a major error and fumbles the ball. Dorothy recovers and uses her ruby reds to wish herself into the end zone. Ichigo finishes the the job of locking out the Knights.
Final: BDB 45 - GK 34

Aberrations vs. Browncoats

The Asgardian Aberrations vs. The Big Damn Browncoats
@ The Singasteinn Superdome
CONFERENCE QUALIFIERS

Coin Toss: Aberrations win, will kick
Kickoff: Megaman shoots long, Mysterio catches, downed by Aragorn on Browncoats 8YL.
1st Half: The Aberrations start strong with a blitz safety and a strong running game, but Ned Stark rallies his team to come back strong. With minutes left in the first half and a tied score, Ned is injured and fumbles the ball but Grodd continues beating him and is disinterested in the ball. Grodd is flaged and replaced by Wolverine. Jaimee Lannister replaces Ned and performs the hand off to Mysterio who performs a long touchdown while Wolverine is busy taking out Mr. Fantastic. Fantastic is replaced by Rick Grimes, and the try fails.
2nd Half: Trailing slightly, Jesus begins to pummel pass plays downfield resulting in an amazing third quarter. The Browncoats have trouble keeping up as Rick is looking for Carl. Their advance is cut off when Neil begins to call Jesus' shots and Jesus is sacked and replaced by Data. The Browncoats manage to rally slightly early in the fourth with Rick back and Wolverine flagged for things we can't mention that he did to Buffy (who voluntarily left to be with him). Wolvy is replaced by Palpatine and Buffy is replaced by Ellen Ripley. Ellen immediately redeems women everywhere with a touchdown bringing the score to a standstill tie with seconds left. Data manages an amazingly intricute series of lateral passes that give Barkley the ball for a game-ending Chaos Dunk.

RESULT: AA 37 - BDB 31



Automatons vs. Browncoats

The Angel Grove Automatons vs. The Big Damn Browncoats

@ Serenity Valley Stadium
Coin Toss: Browncoats win, will receive.
Kickoff: Ichigo kicks, Mysterio catches. Mysterio takes a long drive and scores. Try successful.
1st: Krueger injures Stark. the stars align correctly and Quarterback Cthulhu replaces Stark. Buffy defects to the Automatons after falling for Krueger. Ripster and Xenomorph injure Jon Snow who is replaced by Scruffy the Janitor. After all the back and forth, no additional points are scored this quarter.
2nd: Scruffy is immediately injured by Ripster, but comes back as Zombie Scruffy and continues to perform his duties. Shepard and Cthulhu size each other up in a series of 7 turnovers, followed by multiple touchdowns for both teams.
3rd: In a surprising move, Stan Lee replaces Kabuto. Combining their tactical might, the Automatons finally begin to make a dent in the Browncoats' lead and succesfully block Cthulhu's advances until Lee is killed in what may be a hate crime by Scruffy. Kabuto returns.
4th: Without another tactical aid, Shepard starts to lose ground to Cthulhu. In the final minutes, he actually breaks down and any hope for a last rally are lost.

Browncoats vs. Eels

The Big Damn Browncoats vs. The Guilder Bay Shrieking Eels
@ Serenity Valley Stadium

Coin Toss: Guilder Bay wins, will receive
Kickoff: Mox kicks for Browncoats. Jem catches at the 15. Is tackled by the Hulk at the 22.
1st Quarter Synopsis: Lancer consistently trys a passing game. However, Ned's tactics allow him to dictate the DST's maneuvers. The Eels fail to make 4th down twice. Browncoats manage a touchdown once via Buffy.
2nd Quarter Synopsis: Ned is injured and off the field. Jaimee Lannister takes the QB position when Cthulu's percentage chance fails. Buffy manages another touchdown, but the Eels also manage a touchdown via Frodo as well as a QB Shotgun touchdown with Lancer. Lancer manages to repeat with a conversion.
3rd Quarter Synopsis: Bean is injured and replaced by Thor. Thor's tactical advice aids Lancer in further domination. Frodo, Beaver, and McFly all are successful with their touchdowns. However, no conversion is successful. Lancer is sacked late in the round and injured by The Hulk. Thor moves to QB and Mario takes over F. The Browncoats manage one long-range successful pass play ending with a touchdown by Rey Mysterio, Jr. Mox also succeeds in a field goal during their last possession.
4th Quarter Synopsis: With the Eels starters injured, the Browncoats attempt a comeback. Mr. Fantastic manages two touchdowns this round, but Gimli blocks all extra point attempts due to his kink. This brings the score, with moments left, to 33-32 Browncoats.
