MIA vs Militants

THE ALDERAAN MIA
vs.
THE MILITANTS OF OOO

Coin Toss: Militants win, will receive
Kickoff: Aragorn kicks for a pickup by Rick Deckard, who makes practically no gain before being tackled by Mr. Fantastic, fumbling the ball which is picked up by Rocky the Flying Squirrel for an immediate touchdown.
Game Synopsis: Much like MIA's last game, we see two very different teams. The MIA are the fastest team alive, and the Militants bring out a beefed up defensive foot clan line that manages to catch up with them and prevent a straight runaway game. Meanwhile the Militants have one of the best passing QBs in the League, but can't rely on their old faithful Hagrid for the slow runs because Gorilla Grodd is one of the few who can take him down. So instead of seeing instant return touchdowns, we see teams having to rely on their tactics and minds to outmaneuver the other. The tactical advantage is slight, but does exist, and we see the MIA manage to land a few more touchdowns than the Militants. Look forward to these two teams becoming better and better, especially if they are not being paired with the top ranked teams.

Final: MIA 87 - MOO 69

Leviathans vs Aberrations

THE INNSMOUTH LEVIATHANS
vs.
THE ASGARDIAN ABERRATIONS

Coin Toss: Aberrations win, will receive.
Kickoff: Wulfgar kicks long to Drizz't, who is tackled for a small gain by Smaug.
First Half: Wolverine and Parallax manage a quick march down field for a touchdown, easily avoiding the Urak-Hai defense of the Leviathans (and sometimes not avoiding them, loving a good fight). However the Leviathans actually manage to block short passes and sneaks and even the conversion, having a very good and very injury-filled game on the line of scrimmage. But once past the line, the Aberrations tend to have a clear field. The Leviathans come back out to carry and stick to a pretty similar game plan, utilizing Smaug and Throttle to outrun Lobo. This exchange takes up most of the first half, with the scoreboard climbing high but the teams staying close.
2nd Half: Things begin to get tricky when Uncle Sam approaches and convinces Smaug that he is on the wrong side. Smaug comes out wearing Aberration colors and joins the team, replacing Wolverine (who is thankful for the smoke break anyway). The Leviathans feel the hurt even more when Throttle falls for the adorable Squirrel Girl and takes himself out of play. Most of the Leviathans take to fighting hard trying to injure the Aberrations, but Lobo can't be injured so all they end up doing is slowly getting each of their starters pulled from the game until they can't field a full lineup. The Aberrations spend the time before this moment to pull away on the scoreboard.

Final: IL 36 - AA 54

Automatons vs. Eels

THE MITHRIL AUTOMATONS
vs.
THE GUILDER BAY SHRIEKING EELS

Coin Toss: The Automatons win, will receive.
Kickoff: Our Lord-and-Savior Jesus Christ kicks and the ball is picked up by Kirby who begins to make gains. Meanwhile, on the Eels sidelines Professor X mind controls Blackbeard, getting him to steal Grima's kink - and then having the kink used on Kirby to switch sides to the Eels. Kirby swallows the Gelatinous Cube and uses it on Donkey Kong, then purposely fumbles the ball which is picked up by Spider-Man and returned for a touchdown for the Eels.
Game Synopsis: The Automatons remove the treacherous Kirby and the weakened Kong from play, bringing in Grima Wormtongue to kick and Sagara to replace Kirby. The Automatons first begin by using their usual favorite carrier V but quickly learn that Eel Xtacle Hooper can easily tackle him. This leaves them to a shaky start, only managing to score finally in the second quarter. The Eels meanwhile take advantage of the weakened team to score. In the second half, Hulk comes out on defense long after V has been injured. Without their starters, and with a pissed off Hulk, the Eels just continue to pull ahead.

Final: MA 21 - GBSE 47

Militants vs Browncoats

THE MILITANTS OF OOO
vs.
THE BIG DAMN BROWNCOATS

Coin Toss: Militants win, will receive
Kickoff: Megaman kicks long to Rick Decard, who makes a short gain before being put down by Bullroarer.
Entire Game Synopsis: Once again sadly there isn't much of a PR write up to provide here, but because all four quarters share the same plays. For the Browncoats, Neil manages to predict and relay to his offensive and defensive lines the Militant plays, causing them heartache. However his defense still can't keep up with the Militant offense. We see a very slow game of downs, with the score remaining close all game. In the end the extra passing distance that Hawkeye brings to the Militants and their ability to outrun the Browncoat defense gives them the edge.

Final: MOO 37 - BDB 30

Grenades vs Leviathans

THE ATLUS ROCKET PROPELLED GRENADES
vs.
THE INNSMOUTH LEVIATHANS

Coin Toss: Grenades win, will receive
Kickoff: Wulfgar kicks long to John Marston, who immediately returns for a touchdown.
Game Synopsis: This game is a blowout from the beginning. The grenades present a tactical team that can continuously outmaneuver the Leviathans. The Leviathans manage a little horse theft but can't put the points on the scoreboard. Not much to really write up sadly on the RP side, but what we see here isn't necessarily a failure of the Leviathans but a success of a newly-cemented Grenades line that will be a force to be reckoned with in future weeks.

Final: RPG 46 - IL 7

Season 3 Week 4 Interim Two: The Coalition Makes A Dent

(To catch up, read the previous posts for Interims and
then read the Week 4 game between the Impalers and Crows.)

Since being tipped off, members of the Coalition of the Killing - now calling themselves the RIDDLE Coalition (standing for Righting Inconvenient Deaths, Dealing Law Equally and referring to Voldemort's true name), began trying to decipher the cryptic clue left by the stranger. Mistakenly thinking it referred to the ring of the now deceased Green Lantern Hal Jordan, or to the newly drafted Aberrations star Parallax, the team made no headways. Until finally, the Winchester Bros. from the Impalers figured it out:

Sam: "I don't think so. The riddle talked about a fearless fallen one. Maybe it's being taken to literally.

See, there are a bunch of different lantern types. The green ones here are supposed to be the guardians. Rumor has it one "fell" and made his own warriors, using fear instead of willpower as an energy source.
Each lantern group has it's own oath they swear by. Hal's was a more noble one, but these guys, they are more of a dictator ship. Their oath reads:
'In blackest day, in brightest night,
Beware your fears made into light.
Let those who try to stop what's right
Burn like my power Sinestro's might!'
My bet is, we find this Sinestro guy, we find the horcrux."
Dean: "Tell them where you got this tidbit here."
Sam: "Well, uh...comic books?"

So when the Impalers met up with Sinestro this week for their match against his team - the Crows, they had a plan. Dean Winchester made a sacrificial deal with the devil to be sent to Hell and for their fallen teammate Falkor to return. Falkor bit off and spit the ring of Sinestro into the fires of Hell, destroying it.
Meanwhile, our mysterious shadowy figure approaches the RIDDLE Coalition Coaches with another clue:

Impalers vs. Crows

THE IMMORTAL IMPALERS
vs.
THE CHARMING CROWS

Coin Toss: Impalers win, will receive.
Kickoff: Green Arrow kicks long to Predator who slips into stealth mode and runs a field-long touchdown.
1st Half: Sinestro and the boys come out and begin to outrun the Impaler defense. It seems as if the Impalers are almost giving the Crows the field. Finally Sinestro goes for a QB sneak into the End Zone on a 2nd and Goal when shit gets crazy. On the Impaler sidelines, Dean Winchester is seen talking to a tall cloaked figure. They shake hands, and shortly after Dean falls dead. Few notice and the play goes on. As Sinestro enters the end zone, a large portal opens up above him and the temperature in the arena rises. From the portal comes out Falkor, but not the Falkor you remember. Having been through hell and back, this isn't your grandmother's luck dragon. Falkor the Don't-Give-A-Fuck Dragon immediately smells a small essence of the man who killed him - Voldemort, and hones in on the ring that Sinestro is wearing. In one move, Falkor bites off Sinestro's ring hand and turns his head and spits it back into the hell portal before it can close - destroying it. Sinestro feels fear for the first time in a long time, then promptly faints. As a result, The Goddamn Batman comes out to QB for the rest of the game.
2nd Half: Batman and the gang begin to reak havok on the Impalers, to redeem their loss last week and the maiming of their quarterback. The Impalers bring it back strong, with Sam honoring his brothers sacrifice and Falkor displaying his new attitude on the field. Both teams are penalized so much that the game is called early in the fourth quarter when neither team can field a full offensive line due to individuals being injured or banned.

Final: II 26 - CC 32

The Roadmap to the death of Voldemort
